What frontend developers actually earn in India varies a lot by company type and how well you negotiate. Here's the landscape and how to push your number up.
By company type
Service/consulting companies pay the least but hire in volume. Product companies (Razorpay, Swiggy, CRED, Zerodha, Groww, PhonePe) pay well with RSUs/ESOPs. Global MNCs/GCCs sit at the top. The biggest jumps come from switching to a product company or GCC.
By experience (rough bands)
Compensation rises fastest in the first 4–5 years. The fastest way to grow it is a well-negotiated switch every 2–3 years — annual increments rarely match a strong offer.
