Frontend vs Backend vs Full-Stack Developer
Choosing a path is easier once you know what each role actually does day to day.
What each does
Frontend builds what users see and interact with (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, React). Backend builds the server, APIs, databases and business logic. Full-stack does both, usually with more depth on one side. Frontend is very visual and UX-focused; backend is data and systems-focused.
How to choose
Pick frontend if you enjoy UI, interaction and immediate visual feedback; backend if you enjoy data, APIs and systems. Full-stack is great for startups and versatility, but you'll still specialise for senior roles. Many start with frontend because feedback is fast and the job market is strong.
