Short answer
Most rejections aren't about not knowing the answer, they're about how the answer is delivered. Here are the mistakes that quietly cost offers.
In the technical rounds
Rambling instead of leading with a one-line answer; not clarifying requirements before coding; ignoring edge cases (loading/empty/error states); mutating state in React; using array index as a key on dynamic lists; and over-engineering a simple problem. Structure your answer, then go deep.
In the behavioural round
Vague stories with no result, saying 'we' instead of 'I', trashing a past employer, and having no genuine 'why this company' answer. Use STAR, quantify outcomes, and stay positive.
